Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about adopting a puppy from Cozy Companions. Can't find your answer? We're just a message away.
How do I adopt a puppy from Cozy Companions?
+
Adopting from us is simple and joyful. Browse our available puppies online, find the one that steals your heart and click "Adopt Me" to begin the process. Our team will reach out within 24 hours to confirm your reservation, answer any questions and guide you through the next steps.
Can I visit the puppies before I commit?
+
Absolutely! We warmly welcome all families to come and meet our puppies in person before making any decision. We believe it's important that both you and your new companion feel comfortable and connected from the very first meeting. Simply contact us to arrange a visit.
Is a deposit required to reserve a puppy?
+
Yes, a reservation deposit is required to secure your chosen puppy. This ensures your puppy is held for you while the remaining arrangements are made. The deposit amount is deducted from the total adoption fee. Our team will provide full details when you get in touch.
How old are the puppies when they go to their new home?
+
All our puppies go to their forever homes at a minimum of 8 weeks old. This is the ideal age for puppies to leave their mother — they are fully weaned, socialised with their littermates and emotionally ready to bond with their new family. We never rush this process.
Do you offer delivery or is collection required?
+
We strongly prefer in-person collection as it allows you to meet your puppy in their home environment before the journey. However we understand that distance can sometimes be a factor and we are happy to discuss safe delivery arrangements on a case by case basis. Please contact us to discuss your specific situation.
Do your puppies come with a health guarantee?
+
Yes! Every puppy from Cozy Companions comes with a written health guarantee. All our puppies receive a full veterinary examination before going to their new home, ensuring they are in perfect health. We are committed to the wellbeing of every puppy we raise.
Are the puppies vaccinated before adoption?
+
Absolutely. All our puppies are fully up to date with their age-appropriate vaccinations before they go to their new homes. They also receive regular deworming and flea treatments. Full vaccination records and a health certificate are included with every adoption.
What food do you recommend for my new puppy?
+
Each puppy comes home with a full care guide including the specific food they have been eating since weaning. We strongly recommend continuing with the same food initially to avoid any digestive upset. Our team is always available to offer nutritional guidance as your puppy grows.
Will you support me after I take my puppy home?
+
Always. We consider ourselves lifelong partners in your puppy's journey. Whether you have questions about training, feeding, behaviour or health — our team is just a call or message away. We genuinely care about the happiness of every puppy and every family we work with.
Which breeds do you specialise in?
+
We specialise in four of the most beloved small breeds — Yorkshire Terriers, French Bulldogs, Dachshunds and Maltipoos. Each breed has been carefully chosen for their wonderful temperament, adaptability and their incredible ability to bring joy to any home.
Which breed is best for families with children?
+
All four of our breeds can thrive beautifully in family environments when properly socialised. French Bulldogs and Maltipoos are particularly known for their gentle and patient nature with children. Yorkshire Terriers and Dachshunds are bold and playful. Our team is happy to help you find the perfect match for your family's lifestyle.
Are Maltipoos hypoallergenic?
+
Maltipoos are considered a low-shedding breed and are often a great choice for people with mild dog allergies. While no dog is truly 100% hypoallergenic, Maltipoos tend to produce less dander than many other breeds making them a popular choice for allergy-sensitive families. We always recommend spending time with the breed before committing.
How big do your breeds get?
+
All four of our breeds are small to medium sized dogs. Yorkshire Terriers typically reach 3-7 lbs, Maltipoos 5-20 lbs depending on the Poodle parent size, French Bulldogs 20-28 lbs and Dachshunds 8-32 lbs depending on whether they are miniature or standard. Our team can give you a more specific estimate for each individual puppy.
How long has Cozy Companions been operating?
+
Cozy Companions was founded in 2015 by a family of passionate dog lovers. For over a decade we have been connecting families with their perfect companions and we are incredibly proud of the community of happy pet owners we have built along the way.
Are your puppies ethically raised?
+
Absolutely and without exception. All our puppies are born and raised in our family home — never in kennels or cages. They are handled daily from birth, introduced to household sounds, socialised with people of all ages and raised with love and patience. We are completely transparent about our practices and welcome visits at any time.
What payment methods do you accept?
+
We accept all major credit and debit cards, bank transfers and online payments through our secure WooCommerce checkout. If you have a specific payment query please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team directly.
